What Nex1on can do out of the box
Unpack the archive and you get a complete set. Nothing to buy or hunt for: everything below ships with the engine and is switched on with one button in the panel.
Content
- Pages and news — editor, categories, tags, search, bookmarks, “read also”, calendar, archive, extra record fields and filtering by them.
- Knowledge base and help — question-and-answer sections with search.
- Help centre — a large search over frequent questions and, if the knowledge-base module is installed, over its articles; sections as tiles, frequent questions and at the bottom “Did not find an answer? Write to support”: a signed-in person gets a new-request form with the subject from the search, a guest gets sign-in or the contact form; suggestions while typing the subject of a request.
- Gallery, video and audio — albums, a player for video and music, embeds in records.
- Downloads — files with a description, a counter and a check on upload.
- “Table” field — a table in a record or form: rows move with buttons, paste from a spreadsheet or CSV straight into a cell.
People
- Forum — topics, replies, moderation, reputation, subscriptions.
- Forum: best answer, quotes, mentions — the answer that helped is marked as best and shown as a block under the question: who answered, the start of the answer and a jump to it; a quote carries the author's name and a link to the original message; “@login” appears as the person's name linked to an open profile.
- Pre-moderation of newcomers — a new member's first messages wait for approval (you set the number).
- Trust levels — a member grows through levels by reputation and time: images in comments, replies without pre-moderation and links without nofollow open by level; reports weigh by level, and several different people hide a doubtful comment “for review” until a moderator decides. A level can be pinned by hand. The owner switches it on.
- Comments — threads, reports, reply subscriptions.
- Private messages, chat, wall, members — profiles, roles, a member list with filters.
- Personal account — profile, settings, bookmarks, subscriptions.
Commerce
- Shop — catalogue, cart (“Add to cart” without a page reload), orders, payment.
- Classifieds — a board with an author account and ad display.
- Banners and short links — shown by place, schedule and role.
- Banner report by place and country — impressions, clicks and CTR by place (header, between records, in text and so on) and by country for a chosen period, a daily chart, CSV export; only daily counters are kept, no visitor or page addresses.
Talking to visitors
- Forms and feedback — your own forms with fields, mail to your inbox.
- Form summary — totals for every field over a chosen period, by day, week or month, CSV export; personal fields (email, phone, file) are not in the summary, only how many people answered.
- Newsletter, polls, reviews, booking requests, events.
- Booking — a visitor picks a service on a card, then a day and time, with no account; free slots are counted from your working hours and the bookings already made, two people cannot take the same slot, letters go to you and to the visitor with a cancel link.
- Newsletter: templates and segments — four ready layouts and your own templates; “To whom” by topic, subscription period and “no letters for N days”, together with language and tag, the number of recipients is visible before sending, a segment can be saved; unsubscribed people and the stop list never get a letter, whatever the segment.
- Mail bounce tracking — an address that does not exist stops getting letters by itself: delivery failure reports are read from a separate mailbox (read only, nothing is deleted), the subscriber list shows a mark and the reason, and you can bring an address back by hand. Switches on once a mailbox is set.
- Cookie consent and legal documents — for personal-data rules.
Look
- 13 themes for different niches: blog, company site, studio, showcase, events, cinema, academy, diary, terminal and more. Each works on phone, tablet and desktop.
- Your own menus by key — any number of menus in the header, footer or anywhere on a page with a tag.
- Colours, fonts, corner radius — from the panel, with a preview; a theme file editor and tags that place any block anywhere.
- Preview of theme edits — a draft of a theme file is shown in a closed frame before saving: nothing is written, visitors see nothing.
- Nested menus — items on several levels; on a phone the parent is a separate row with an expand button.
- Undo the publish — one button puts the header, footer, colours, block layout and menu back as they were before the last publish from the studio.
- If a theme breaks — the site switches to a fallback by itself and the panel shows what happened.
- Maintenance mode — a neat page with an expected return time.
Control
- Seven interface languages, each record has its own language and address.
- Updates from the panel with a backup first and an archive fingerprint check.
- Roles and permissions, an action log, sign-in protection.
- Visit statistics, a sitemap, markup for search engines.
- Where visitors came from, by UTM tags — a report by source, medium and campaign with CSV export and a “best tags of the week” line in the owner's letter; no addresses or pages are stored.
- A separate panel sign-in page — at the panel address, in the panel's style, open even when the site is closed; the password, limits and second step are the same as for the site sign-in.
- Changing the site address — a wizard for moving to another domain: a database copy first, the old address replaced in records and settings, a check; if something goes wrong it names the copy and offers “restore”.
- Clean-up of old material — a wizard: a trial run with an estimate of what will be freed, to the trash or erase; a repeated password, a copy, a log and a letter to the owners.
- Off-site copies: S3, WebDAV and SFTP — an encrypted copy goes to several storages; an SFTP server is recognized by a key fingerprint that you confirm.
- Modules and themes as an archive — installed from the panel, with a backup and a log.
