Third-party licences

Which components written by other people are included in the NEX1ON engine, under which licences they are distributed, and where their texts are.

The engine includes three components written by other people. They stay under their own licences, and we claim no rights to them. The NEX1ON engine itself is distributed under the licence agreement. The same information is shipped with the engine in the THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt file.

1. CodeMirror 6 — the code editor of the panel

  • Versions: @codemirror/state 6.7.6, view 6.43.14, commands 6.11.1, language 6.13.1, lang-html 6.4.12, lang-css 6.3.1, search 6.7.2, autocomplete 6.20.3, lint 6.9.7 and their dependencies (@lezer/*, @marijn/find-cluster-break, style-mod, w3c-keyname, crelt)
  • Licence: MIT; © 2018–2021 Marijn Haverbeke and others
  • Where in the engine: core/Admin/assets/js/vendor/ (licence text: CODEMIRROR-LICENSE.txt next to it)
  • What for: editing theme and template code in the panel; it runs locally, with no requests to other servers

2. KaTeX — mathematical formulas

  • Version: 0.16.22 (unchanged dist files, except katex.min.css: the fallback woff/ttf sources were removed from @font-face)
  • Licence: MIT; © 2013–2020 Khan Academy and other contributors
  • Where in the engine: core/Themes/assets/vendor/katex/ (licence text: the LICENSE file, origin: SOURCE.txt)
  • What for: showing formulas in entries where formulas are enabled

3. DejaVu Sans — font for text on pictures

  • Licence: Bitstream Vera Fonts licence; the DejaVu changes are in the public domain; © Bitstream, Inc.; glyphs from Arev are © Tavmjong Bah
  • Where in the engine: core/Media/fonts/DejaVuSans.ttf (licence text: LICENSE-DejaVu.txt next to it)
  • What for: the watermark on pictures and app icons; the font may not be sold on its own

4. Your modules, themes and data

Modules and themes that you or a contractor write for your site, and the data of your site, are yours. Components that you add to your own modules and themes stay under their own licences.
