Installation

1. Unpack the archive into the site folder. This is usually public_html.
2. Open the site in a browser. The installer starts by itself. Right away it asks for the installation code: it is in the file storage/install-code.txt (open it over FTP or in your hosting file manager and copy the code). No step opens without the code: otherwise the first person to visit a freshly uploaded site could choose the database and become the owner. Once the owner is created, the file is deleted.
3. “Language and country” step. The country sets the defaults: time zone, shop currency, date and number format, first day of the week, site languages, the cookie consent banner and the video hints. You can change all of it later in the settings.
4. “Server” step. A list of requirements, each marked “yes” or “no”. If everything is green, move on.
5. “Database” step. You take the database name, user and password from your hosting panel. The installer checks them before it writes anything.
6. “Owner” step. Your name, email and password. This account gets all permissions.
7. “Site” and “Kind” steps. The site name (the installer suggests one from the address — correct it or accept it), a short tagline about what the site is for (you can leave it empty), and what kind of site it is: your choice decides which modules are turned on right away and what appears on the home page. “Customise” lets you tick the modules, pick the theme and decide about the samples yourself. If the theme has ready-made looks, the same place has a “Ready-made look” field: colours, home page blocks, header and footer chosen to match the theme (“As the theme comes” — without it). You can change all of this later in the panel; if the kind did not suit you, Modules → “Undo the kind” restores its modules, settings, theme and ready-made look and removes the samples, while your own entries stay.
8. “Mail” step. You can fill it in now, or skip it and come back to it in Settings → Mail (see below).
9. “Done”. The site is running and you are signed in to the panel.

Table prefix. The installer suggests nx_. Change it only if another site already lives in the same database.

There is no install folder to look for — it does not exist. The installer closes by itself as soon as the site has an owner: the address /install leads to the home page.

Site types in the installer

On the “Kind” step you choose the site type — it decides the modules, theme and samples. Below is what gets turned on (the “Welcome block” is present everywhere and is not listed in the table):

You can change the set under “Customise” or later in “System → Modules”; if the type did not suit you, “Undo the kind” puts everything back as it was.
