Page addresses

Settings → Page addresses. It has one row for each section of the site, and each row has a list of address kinds. Next to the name of each kind there is an example: exactly the address you will get if you choose it. You do not need to write templates by hand.

What you can choose:

KindWhat it looks like
name/news/o-pereezde
number and name/news/12-o-pereezde
category and name/news/obyavleniya/o-pereezde
category, number and name/news/obyavleniya/12-o-pereezde
date and name/news/2026/09/12/o-pereezde
number only/news/35788
name in the site root/o-nas
number in the site root/35788

Not every kind suits every section, and the engine does not offer what does not fit: entries get all seven (except the name in the root, which is taken by pages), products and files get four, forum topics get two (the section has always been in their address), and pages get three.

Changing the kind is safe: the engine always accepts all kinds but builds only the selected one. Old links, from emails, bookmarks and other sites, keep opening, but the engine gently redirects the person to the selected address and tells search engines which address to treat as the main one. This way a page keeps one address instead of five.

The engine also corrects a wrong address by itself. If a link has the right number but the wrong name, such as /news/123-musor, entry 123 opens and its real address appears in the browser's address bar.

General address rules

Right there, below the choice of kinds:

  • separator: - or _ (moya-novost or moya_novost);
  • lower case: convert the address to lowercase letters;
  • trailing slash: /news/test or /news/test/;
  • .html at the end: only for moving from an old engine where addresses looked like that, so that old links keep working;
  • drop prepositions: “voyna-i-mir” becomes “voyna-mir”. Off by default: a title without a preposition sometimes changes its meaning.

If the name changed

If you change the title of an entry, product, file or page, the engine itself creates a “moved permanently” rule from the old address to the new one. It is visible in Site management → SEO & accessibility → Redirects, and you can remove it. Without it, a link that was handed out half a year ago would answer “not found”.

The address of a forum topic never changes when the title changes: people copy it into correspondence, and there it must keep working.
