The “Classifieds board” kind and downloading a module in the wizard

The “Classifieds board” module is not in the engine archive: when you choose this kind of site, the wizard downloads it from nex1on.com, checks the signature and installs it, and if anything fails it leaves nothing behind.

Section: the setup wizard, the step “Kind of site”. The other kinds are described in the Guide, the section “Site kinds in the installer”.

What this kind is

“Classifieds board” — pages, ads in two-level categories with photos, search and filters by price and city, a lifetime for each ad and a moderator’s review before showing, private messages and a contact form; the “Storefront” theme. The author’s e-mail is never published, and links in the text are not clickable. Guest submission of ads is off by default: the owner turns it on, and it needs the site’s mail.

How the download goes

The module is free, but it is not part of the engine archive. When you press “Apply” on this kind, a separate screen opens with a bar and the names of the stages:

  1. “Downloading…” — fetching from nex1on.com (the internet is needed, and only our own address is used);
  2. “Checking the signature…” — the archive is signed by us, and it is checked before unpacking;
  3. “Installing…” — the module is installed and turned on the usual way, and the wizard then goes on with the site setup.

Keep the page open: it takes a few seconds. Only the chosen kind is downloaded, nothing “just in case”.

If it did not work

Any failure leaves not a single file in the modules folder, and the screen names the reason in words: no connection to nex1on.com; the module is not available yet; the signature does not match; the file is not the expected size; the module needs a newer version of Nex1on; the server’s list of root certificates is out of date (ask your host to update ca-certificates); the modules folder is not writable. Then you can “Try again” or “Choose another kind of site”. Without scripts in the browser the download cannot run: choose another kind or turn scripts on.
